COMIC BOOK AND COMIC STRIP LINKS
ARTIST LINKS:
SHELDON MAYER- A tribute to one of favorite cartoonists. Info on his creations Scribbly, Sugar & Spike and more.
MORT MESKIN- Loads of info about this great artist. The site also contains a few Meskin comic book stories.
BERNIE KRIGSTEIN- An official site devoted to the artists' comic book work as well as his paintings and drawings. Also contains complete comic book stories.
CROCKETT JOHNSON- Everything you ever wanted to know about the creator of Barnaby is located here.
MARK MARTIN- A website by the creator of such characters as Gnat-Rat and Montgomery Wart! One of my favorite modern cartoonists. Hands down the funniest cartoonist alive (well, maybe a tie between him and Steve Purcell). He keeps a daily blog as well.
RESOURCE LINKS:
COMICARTVILLE- Great articles about classic comics. There's a section on Will Eisner about his early comic book work, pre-Quality, that contains complete stories. Check it out!
BARNACLE PRESS- This guy has posted a TON of early comic strips for your enjoyment. We're talking Little Orphan Annie by Harold Gray, Bringing Up Father by George McManus, Terry and the Pirates by Milton Caniff, early Frank King and Billy DeBeck! And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Check it out!
THE HISTORY OF COMIC BOOKS- A good place to start if you're new to classic comics.
Blog's, news and other junk:
FRED SEZ- A fun blog by cartoonist Fred Hembeck. Always enjoyable and he posts pretty much everyday! Nice guy too! Go, Read. Now.
MARK EVANIER- A blog from the writer of Crossfire, DNAgents, Blackhawk and numerous Hanna Barbera comics. Search his website for old articles too. A very entertaining and knowledgeable fellow who has also worked in the Television industry for years.
CRAIG YOE- A great blog from the author of the book MODERN ARF. Lot's of info and images on classic cartoonists.
